Thrift Report–What is this stuff?

When I am thrifting I look for things that speak to me, things that I like and things that I would love to keep if I were a hoarder, ahem.  Make no mistake, I have no vast knowledge of vintage anything…if its cute or unique, I like it!

So it is no surprise that sometimes I buy things that I have no idea what in the heck they are.  That was what happened this week.  The first two items listed below I am not really sure what they are.  Do you know?

I really liked the colors on this canister.

I think maybe this is a cotton ball canister.  I love the retro floral pattern.  The gold leaf around the rim of the lid is awesome had the thrift store not used tape to keep the lid on (when taking the tape off some of the gold leaf came off too…boo).

This is a 3L, Carlton Glass cookie jar.  The lid is plastic and the graphics are in mint condition.

And last but not least, this little beauty!  The etching is so pretty.  I love it!

What did you find this week?  And does anyone know what I found??

Thrift Report

Hi everyone!  My kids have been keeping me hopping and I have been sick but I did manage to get a little thrifting in!  Here is a peek into what I found…

This little cream and sugar set has me a bit stumped.  It doesn’t have any markings on the bottom so I can’t figure out the marker.  Anyone know?  The little brass finial on the lid is so pretty.

I wasn’t sure what this was when I saw it in the case but after looking at it I realized that it is a door knocker!  How fun would this been on the door of a golf lover!!??

And this precious pup planter…I couldn’t leave her behind.  Her face is just the sweetest.  The original Relpo sticker is still on the bottom.  I just think she is adorable.

So that is what I found this week, did you find anything good?

Dining room plate wall

I have this funny little wall in my dining room where are stairs are.  I have never really been sure what to do with that wall because it is so awkward.  After searching the interwebs (aka Pinterest), I decided to do a plate wall, but not your Granny’s plate wall…sorry Granny!  I wanted it to be fun, current and eclectic.

And here she is, in all her glory…the plate wall!  Sorry for the really bad iphone picture!

Most of the plates were found while thrifting at places like Goodwill and Salvation Army.  I picked up the iridescent white Carnival glass plate when I went to Vintage Market Days last weekend.

Others I picked up at Target and JCP (the Happy Chic line by Jonathon Adler).

Do you have a weird wall in your house?  What have you done to dress it up?

New to the shop!

Hello Friends!

I have been busy listing some new items to the Shop.   Here is a peek at the new goodies!

These little cuties..

They are Universal Ballerina Soup Bowls in the Cherry Blossom pattern.  The camera didn’t capture the beauty of the colors on the cherry blossoms.  They really are pretty.

I have a love affair with lotus bowls.

This is the first one that I have found that has a design on it, the others have all been solid colors.  This little jewel has a sweet little bird and flowers on it.  It is stamped on the bottom with “Ming Garden by Otagiri”.  Cute!

I told you that I had a thing for lotus bowls!  This is a big one!

The yellow is yummy and it is a larger size than the typical lotus bowls that I have found.

Hello retro!!

I don’t normally buy sets of dinnerware but this was just awesome…It couldn’t be left behind.  It’s a 16 piece set of Salem North Star China.

And the colors on these cups and plates are just awesome and fun.

This is an 8 piece set including 4 cups and 4 dessert plates.  They are in perfect condition…I just love them.

That’s what I have added this week.  I am already hunting for what I will be adding next week!  Have a great weekend ya’ll!

New items listed to the shop!

Hey ya’ll.  I hope that everyone had a great long weekend.  We did a lot of nothing which was awesome!  I did manage to pick up a few things for the shop, which I added this morning.

These sweet little lotus bowls, oh the possibilities!

And these bad boys would look awesome in a bookcase!

And this little jewel…so sweet.

There you have it, the new goods!

a little bit of glam

in the form of a little side table DIY.  Ya’ll have seen this little side table at Target, right?

Room Essentials Wire Accent Table

It was on sale this week for $16, score!  The colors were off for the spot that I needed it to go so I got out my spray paint baby!  Well, I take that back.  I started with Rub n’ Buff.  I applied it to the base and decided I didn’t really like the look and I couldn’t get it down in all the grooves.  So then I got out my spray paint!

I used this stuff…

It’s my favorite gold spray paint.  I found it at Michael’s (use a coupon!).  So during the “golden hours” (aka naptime) I took the little table apart by removing the four screws holding the top on and went after the base with my spray paint.

Then I lightly sanded the top with a sanding block then wiped it clean.  By this time the golden hours were over and I had to wait until the next day to work on it again.  I used this Rust-oleum Very Berry Pink for the top.

And the final product….

BAM!  I love it!

Hello and Welcome!

Hi Friends!  Welcome to Pendleton Market at Home.  My name is Myssie and I am the Queen Bee around here.  I wanted to start my first blog post by telling you a little about me, my family and how this blog came about.

I live in the midwest (St Louis area) with my family, my husband Josh, my kids Caroline, William and Charlotte, our hamster Theodore Roosevelt and fish Mr. The King.  I enjoy DIY, vintage, d├ęcor and diet coke.  I also love photography and I am often found running sidekick to my good pal Kacey helping her photograph weddings.

I started an etsy shop about a year ago selling some of my fantastic vintage finds.  I decided to start this blog as a way to connect with my customers, share my home and never-ending list of projects that I do.  On the blog I will be posting about the projects that I am working on for my own home and well as showcasing some of the items that I have listed in the shop

Thanks so much for stopping by!
